Terms of Service

1. Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must keep your password confidential and notify us immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without your authorisation. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

2. Bookings

VirTrav operates as a marketplace. When you book a property, you enter into a direct agreement with the host for that stay. VirTrav facilitates the booking and payment but is not the provider of the accommodation.

Booking prices shown include the nightly rate, cleaning fee, and our service fee. The applicable cancellation policy is displayed on each listing before you confirm and forms part of your agreement with the host.

3. Hosts and listings

Hosts are responsible for the accuracy of their listings, including descriptions, pricing, availability, and virtual tour content, and for holding any permits or licences required to let their property.

• Listings are reviewed before publication and may be rejected or removed at our discretion.
• Hosts must have the legal right to publish any images or virtual tours they upload.
• Hosts must honour confirmed bookings except where the stated cancellation policy allows otherwise.

4. Payments

Card and bank payments are processed by our payment provider. VirTrav does not store your full card details. Payouts to hosts are made after check-in, less our service fee.

Refunds follow the cancellation policy shown on the listing at the time of booking. Where a refund is due, it is returned to the original payment method.

5. VRT tokens

VRT is a platform credit that can be used to pay for bookings at a discount. VRT is issued and held custodially by VirTrav on your behalf.

VRT has no cash value outside the platform. It is not a security, investment, or deposit, it does not earn interest, and it does not represent any ownership interest in VirTrav. We do not guarantee that VRT will be redeemable for any particular value in future.

• VRT purchased with money is non-refundable once credited, except where required by law.
• Promotional VRT (such as the welcome airdrop) may expire or be withdrawn.
• We may suspend token functionality where we suspect fraud or abuse.

6. Acceptable use

• Do not use the platform for any unlawful purpose or to infringe anyone else’s rights.
• Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform, other accounts, or our infrastructure.
• Do not post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings, reviews, or content.
• Do not scrape, resell, or redistribute platform content without our written permission.

7. Virtual tours and content

Virtual tours are provided to help you make an informed decision, but they represent a property at the time of capture. Minor differences between a tour and the property as found are expected and are not on their own grounds for a refund.

You retain ownership of content you upload and grant VirTrav a non-exclusive licence to host, display, and promote it in connection with the platform.

8. Liability

The platform is provided on an "as is" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, VirTrav is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the acts or omissions of hosts or guests.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

9. Changes and termination

We may update these terms as the platform evolves. Where changes are material we will give notice before they take effect. Continued use after that point constitutes acceptance.

You may close your account at any time. Obligations relating to completed bookings and payments survive termination.
